If your pet could talk

Ever wish you could break the 'code' and know what your pet is trying to tell you? Does a wagging tail mean your pet is feeling friendly? We've worked with Dr. Suzanne Hetts, a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist and Dr. Robyn Jaynes, PetSmart's resident veterinarian and pet care expert, to help you, the pet parents, recognize and understand your pet's communication behaviors.

Adopted lab becoming timid off men

I adopted a 4-5yr old Lab from the SPCA about 4 weeks ago. He is very good and listens well. He seems to be a very fast learner. But he seems to get more and more scared of men each week. I walk him daily on trails at a local park (between 1-2hr walks). His first week he was very good. He just ignored people and other dogs. His second week he started getting unsure of men. He wouldn't walk by them and he would give a little bark. He has progressed to barking and lunging at men. And he will not walk around other dogs anymore. He has had no bad experiences with me at all.

Introducing a puppy to our senior dog

Can I get some suggestions on my puppy(6 mths)interacting with my senior(7 yrs) dog. We've had the puppy for a month and my other dog still wants nothing to do with her. She growls at the puppy when the puppy comes near her. We just started to try going for walks together so I have to see how that progresses..I didn't think it would have been like this because my senior dog usually is a very gentle easy going dog. Is she jealous ?

Barking and biting

Hello, I got my dog Molly (black lab) over the summer and she was already 5 months old, she is now roughly a year old but still play bites all the time. She especially likes biting your pant legs while you are trying to walk and no matter what I do I can't get her to stop biting and when I try she gets into a stance and starts barking. I really need help trying to stop this problem because my mom is threatening to get rid of her and I really have grown attached to her even though she bites and barks at me.

crating

I have two small dogs (Brussel's Griffons) they both sleep in our bed with my husband and I. Everything is fine except that one of the two dogs wakes up between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. every morning. He wakes up the other dog and chaos ensues. Pookie; the dog that first wakes up, starts sitting on my head! and licking my hair and pillow and anything to get me to get out of bed. Once he is awake Cola; the second dog, wakes up and thinks it is time to play he starts climbing all over me and licking me as well. I realize that having them in our bed was in retrospect a huge mistake.

Puppy has started peeing on the couches..

We just got our pup 2 months ago and she's about 5 months old now. Overall, she has been doing well with going to the bathroom outside (most of the time). Within the last few weeks she started to go to the door to let us know when she needed to go out. This weekend she has just started going pee on the couches. She did it three times on Sunday. We are currently not letting her on the couches anymore and bring her bed in to the family room to lay on and play with her toys. Last night she peed on her bed! She shows no signs that she needs to go to the bathroom before she goes either.

HELP! I have a cat that pees on our laundry and pillows

and a dog that can't hold it through the night. They are both new pets but fully grown.

I'm Ready To Give Up

I bought a year old male yorkie in August. He had issues with being shy and we are still working on that. My first problem is that he loves me, he constantly barks at my son. He barks at everything. Even if I sweep the floor. My second problem, my biggest one is that we put him out to potty and he goes. Every morning, after he goes outside, he poops in the house. We thought maybe it was a separation issues with me leaving for work. My husband has started putting him in a crate if he has to go away.

UV Urine Detector

I am about to move out of an apartment that I not only potty-trained my daughter in (lots of peepee messes) but had a puppy in for a little over a month with CONSTANT accidents. The office has told me that they come in with a "stick" that detects urine and I will have to pay way over $500 to replace the carpet. Is there any way I can mask/remove this so they wont see the urine markings in the UV Light? I'm thinking of buying one off of amazon.com but I still need a remedy!!! Like, a UV urine sensor BLOCKER. any ideas? thanks

Housebreaking/Crate training

I'm getting a Pitbull puppy pretty soon, and I would like to know if anyone could give me some tips tricks and hints about housebreaking. Methods to use, rewards, how to go about it at night?? And also, I've never crate trained a dog before, so if anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks =)
