Everyone loves a special treat, even your pets. If you have some extra time or are looking for a fun project to do with the kids, make a healthy, low-calorie treat for your furry family member. And when feeding your pet treats, remember to keep them in moderation and count them as part of their daily dietary intake.

Look’n lean liver treats

Ingredients:

3 1/2 oz. jar of liver or beef baby food

1/3 cup wheat germ

2/3 cup nonfat dry milk

Directions:

Mix baby food, wheat germ and dry milk. Add a little water if too thick. Drop by the tablespoonful onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool before giving to
your pet. Refrigerate in a closed container.

NOTE: If your pet has a preexisting medical condition, please consult your Banfield veterinarian or family veterinarian before introducing a new food to your pet’s diet.
