Help Detect Health Problems With This Check-List

Early detection of health problems usually prevents unnecessary pain and expense--or worse. If you answer "yes" to one or more of the following questions, please call your veterinarian.
Does Your Pet:
- Tire easily with moderate exercise?
- Have seizures or fainting episodes?
- Seem to have gained or lost weight?
- Act lethargic, disinterested, or depressed?
- Not eat well?
- Vomit?
- Have abnormal bowel movements (soft, loose, bloody, or with mucus)?
- Drag its bottom on the floor?
- Scratch, lick, or chew anywhere?
- Have fleas, ticks, or lice?
- Have missing hair, a dull coat, or mats?
- Have dandruff or greasy skin?
- Have sores, lumps, or bumps?
- Have ears that smell sour or bad?
- Shake its head or rub its face on things?
- Have eyes that are red or swollen with discharge?
- Walk with stiffness or difficulty?
- Have problems climbing stairs or jumping?
- Have long nails?
- Have offensive habits such as jumping, barking, or biting?
- Have yellow or missing teeth, red or swollen gums, or bad breath?
- Have any nasal discharge or sneezing?
- Have abnormal breathing (like coughing or panting)?
- Urinate a lot or have "accidents"; need to go outside more than usual?

cardiac cough - enlarged heart causing breathing problems. is there treatment beyond meds to reduce fluid building in lungs?
