Choosing the Right Toys, Chews and Supplies for Your Terrier
PetSmart - Excerpt from “The Jack Russell Terrier” published by T.F.H. Publications
You can have some fun choosing toys and chewies while you shop. Well-made chew toys, like Nylabone products, are safe and longer-lasting than cheaper ones. Terriers also like furry toys and squeaky toys, but dispose of damaged toys: plastic eyes, synthetic stuffing and squeakers can injure your dog if he swallows them.
Your dog also will need bowls for food and water. Some dogs develop allergies to plastic bowls, and some ceramic bowls made outside the U.S. contain lead and other toxins that can leach into food and water. Stainless steel bowls are a good choice, because they are sturdy, easy to clean and resistant to chewing.
Although not a high-maintenance dog, your terrier will need some grooming supplies, including a brush, nail clippers and possibly a grinding tool or file, a mild shampoo formulated for dogs, and doggy tooth care products. You may also want a flea comb and tick remover if those pests are a problem where you live.
Purchase “The Jack Russell Terrier” and discover a whole new world of dogs through other Terra-Nova publications at your local PetSmart.
