Choose the Right Toys for Your Basset Hound

PetSmart - From the book “The Basset Hound” copyright 2006 by T.F.H Publications

Your Basset’s toy chest should not contain any of the following items:

·        Items with hard, sharp points or attachments that can break off and be dangerous if swallowed.

·        Shoes or other personal clothing. Offering these items to your puppy will confuse him, by teaching him that it’s okay sometimes to chew your shoes and rip holes in your shirts.

·        Balls of string, small balls, cellophane, small plastic bags, and other small items that could get lodged in your puppy’s throat and cause him to choke or suffocate.

·        Children’s toys made of soft rubber, fur, wool, sponge, or plastic that could be chewed into smaller pieces.

Buffy thinks she's a dog. She fetches, sleeps in the dog's bed, and runs to greet me at the door when I come home.
