Chihuahuas are petite, cute and may at times seem to suffer from Napoleonic complexes. But destructive?
Yes, according to a survey published on The Daily Telegraph’s website in early September. In fact, the survey found that the itty-bitty Chihuahua came in second among the top-five most destructive dog breeds, just a hair behind the Great Dane. The reported stated that Chihuahuas cost their owners an average 638 British pounds or $1,175 U.S. dollars in damages over their lifetime, only $100 less than the average cost of damages caused by Great Danes. This particularly large breed cost their owners 669 British pounds or $1,232 U.S. dollars in damages.
The other puppies of mass destruction included the survey were: the Mastiff, which came in third and the dubiously dainty Whippet, which came in fifth.
