My Molly will chew a tennis ball apart in minutes. But, at the same time, she loves to play fetch. Several months ago I got her a KONG rubber ball, and not only does she love it, you can't even tell she's had it for this long. It holds up great and has a very satisfying bounce. It will entertain her for hours on end just throwing it for herself!

Oh, I know: losing a Kong to water is a sad affair.
Another ball that Molly adores are racquet balls. I buy a set of three at Target or a sports store and she'll entertain herself bouncing them all over. They certainly float, but the downside (especially here in AZ) is that they deteriorate in weather so I mostly keep them inside or just when we go to the dog park, etc. They stand up to her chewing when they freshly new.

Sunny (55lb Shepard/coyote) loved his kong until he threw it in the pond. Kongs don't float. And, he was absolutely dangerous when he threw it around the house. But, he COULDN'T destroy it!!! There has NEVER been another toy that he has kept so long!!! Kong Rules!
