my bloodhound consantly sheds i dont know why i brush her every other day
does any body know how to reduce shedding?
There is also the zoom groom, it's a rubber curry style brush. It's relatively inexpensive (around 5-9 dollars) It's gonna do the same job as the furminator, with the bonus you can be pretty vigorous and back brush without irritating the skin. The one knock on it is that it does wear down and will need to eventually replace. The life on the brush depends on how long & how often you brush your dog.
i got this brush recommended by my vet its called the furminator but it was expensive at the store so i got on ebay cheap and i love the brush! i use it on my Pomeranian a lot! i would get more reveiws on it just to make sure about it.

I know how you feel. My dog is sheding in the middle of Winter.
I don't know if this trick will work with your dog. I have a lab and have never tryed it with a Blood hound but what I do is when I'm just sitting on the couch with my dog ,peting here ,wathing TV
I take a pare of old panty hose ,put my hand in the leg like a glove ,and pet and rube her and it just pulls all that lose hair right out. All a brush dose is loosens hair and then your pet drops it off around the house. The panty hose traps the hair on the surface but always throw away after useing. Say you dog had a parasite (etc.) that you don't know about. You will be puting that parasite back on the dog every time you reuse hose. I hope this works for you!
