Looking at adopting a female German Shepherd who shows dominance by humping humans. Is this because she isn't fixed? Has anyone been successful in teaching their dog that this isn't acceptable behaviour?

Thanks.
Due to some other issues we've decided not to adopt her, but it's good to know.

You are correct that it is a dominance behavior and has nothing to do with mating. I don't know that having her fixed would change the behavior, but it would be good for her health. You need exhibit your dominance and the humping will stop.
