We just adopted a little girl doggy who's 7 months old. She was trained to go out side before we got her and im here all day with my kids so she's always outside but in the past month that she's been here she's pooped/peed in every room in the house 1 or 2 times. How do you discipline a dog for doing this and keep them from doing it again?

Thanks for suggesting the bell...I have a 10 month old puppy who still goes in the house. I dont think he knows to let us know he needs to go. I am going to try the bell thing. Hope it works. I've tried crate training but I didnt stick with it (hangs head)

We crate trained our lab and she did very very well. We actually hung a bell by the front door and each time we took her out to do her business, we hit her paw on the bell. Now, no matter where we are in the house, when she needs to go, she will ring the bell. The leash trick works well also. We kept our pup in her crate and when we took her out, we went straight outside - after hitting the bell of course! Hope this helps

The first thing you have to do is not let her have free roam of the house. She needs to be in your sight at all times. If you're working in a room you can block her in with a baby gate or you can tie her leash to your waist. That way you can catch her starting to squat and take her outside. Be sure to praise a lot when she does it right. You had a lot of questions and I think you can get most of those answered if you are able to watch the "Dog Whisperer" on National Geographic this Friday. He is demonstrating some of his techniques discussed in his book. Check your local listings for correct time. You can also buy his book "How to Raise the Perfect Dog". I wish you well.
