My Nino is just over 2 years old, and has had dry heaves at least once a day for his entire life. I have seen the vet about this three times - the first time, he took x-rays to make sure there were no obstructions, and everything was fine. The second time had me try a hypo-allergenic food for severl weeks, but there was no relief for Nino. And the third time he just kind of threw his hands up, and recommended some hair ball treatments. I tried two different treatments and brush him at least daily religiously, but nothing has changed.

Nino is perfectly healthy, active and rambunctious, and it's hard to think that anything is wrong with him. But I can't stand seeing him hunched up and dry heaving so frequently. My vet doesn't seem worried, but should I be? We're going on 2 years of this.

Any advice is appreciated!

I have heard that this can be caused by hairballs. Yes I know you tried a different diet but that may not be the trick. I have heard that people with the same issues would put a tiny bit of vasoline on the cats two front paws. This will enduce vomiting that is so strong that the hairball will come up and the irritation that Nino is probably experiencing should stop. Now I havent tried this yet but I have done some research and this has worked for most everyone ive talked to. Petsmart actually sells a tube of stuff thats for putting on their paws like i said but i forgot what its called. If this does work make sure you get him to drink water afterwards. Lots of it.
