My 3 year old male cat gags when offered anything other than dry cat food.

He will eat the wet cat food occasionally but literally gags (I saw him this morning)at anything else. I have never known/had a cat that did this and am not sure if I should be concerned or not. I really don't want him eating human food but want to make sure he is healthy
