On the frontline: The Red Ant Army

CopleyBug

Yesterday morning, our daily routine was interrupted by an army of ants.  First I saw Copley start dancing, then they got me.  I started dancing.  (For onlookers I'd image that both of us were doing the "Elaine from Seinfeld" dance, yeah!) My feet are covered in welts and are buring - now I know whey they call them fire ants.  It burns!  The …Read more »

On the Road…with Dogs: Part I

JustMeCat

Now if your experience with road trips and dogs is anything like mine, you’ve have had both good ones and bad ones, but mostly bad ones. There are many reasons for that, but usually it’s down to doubling the time the trip should take to stop, play, go to the bathroom and drink water, dogs competing with over-packed luggage for …Read more »

Who says cats and dogs can’t get along?

mdinchak

I have two very important guests staying with me for the next two weeks. I’m watching my mom’s cats while she is out of town and the boys couldn’t be more excited! They currently live with and love our resident housecat, Missy. Believe it or not, Missy adores the dogs just as much and plays with them all the time.

Stranger Danger

LLCoolJess

I’ve had pregnant friends complain to me how aggravating it is when every person they encounter disregards all social graces and assumes it’s appropriate to touch their bellies. I get the same waves of awkwardness when strangers come up and pet my dogs without acknowledging me.

A Tale of Two Toads

shawniec

I just became a pet parent for the fourth and fifth time, consecutively. Suddenly I went from two dogs to two dogs, a guinea pig and now two Fire-belly Toads. And all my pets all red in some way… go figure.

Party of Three

PoundtoPosh

Some say three’s a crowd, but I think it’s a perfect mix. Hanging out with my dogs around the house, going for walks, taking them for outings at dog-friendly places is one of my favorite things to do.
