Do Dogs Pee for Attention?
September 23, 2009
We've been dealing with Bruno's broken leg for a few weeks now, and he continues to require a lot of our time. In addition, the dogs have been kept separate most of the time since he has to be in a crate and taken outside alone (no rough housing). I think we've inadvertently been ignoring Molly in the process. She's been as …Read more »

The Joys of Toy Breed Dogs
September 22, 2009
We’re celebrating the joys of toys! Toy breed dogs, that is. I certainly have a share in this topic, seeing that both my fur-chindren are classified by the AKC as a Toy Breed Dog. Here is a list of my top 10 favorite things about being a Pet Parent to toy breed dogs:

Molly is a happy dog. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a happier dog. There are times she literally skips around the house with her favorite toy (Kong items, which are the only thing that lasts with her; or, if she’s lucky, her stuffed hippo).
My dog at my shoes. And socks. And toilet brush.

Molly ate her first pair of sandals the week we adopted her. We were annoyed, but brushed it off as our own carelessness for leaving them in her reach. We went several months without incident but now she's on the prowl once again. She ate four pairs of sandals last week! She's picky, too, only leather flip flops have fallen victim to …Read more »
Can your pet be a star?
September 14, 2009
My dynamic duo, Loki and Mogwai, had their modeling debut last week for a direct mailer that focuses on small/toy breed dogs. They modeled a pink stroller in a photo that will be included in a mail piece that will be sent out to millions of Pet Parents! Even in pink, my boys are secure in their masculinity and look …Read more »
Looking for a low-cost getaway? Take a daytrip with your dog!
September 9, 2009
Taking a daytrip with your dog could easily be one of the most fun and affordable ways to spend a Saturday afternoon. This weekend, we packed up our pups and headed for the high country for a fun-filled day of hiking in Flagstaff, AZ. We all enjoyed the change of scenery, cooler temperatures and exercise. The best part—it cost next …Read more »
Mogwai, the Drama Queen
September 9, 2009
99.9% of the time my diva dog, Mogwai, is silent. He doesn’t bark or whine under any circumstance. When a visitor comes to the door he let’s Loki do all the guard dog work. Which is why I was so startled the very first time I heard him scream. Yes, scream. It’s more than just a yelp; he literally screams …Read more »
Does your dog ever do this?
September 9, 2009
Both of my dogs’ have an obsession with turning anything paper into confetti. They aren’t satisfied with a single tear; they must create a million tiny pieces and spread them all over the house for me to pick up. I’ll find evidence of the destruction for weeks hidden underneath the pillows of their beds, in between couch cushions and even …Read more »
