Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels, these are a few of my favorite things
May 27, 2009 -
As we come into early Fall, we're talking a lot about our favorite things, so I've been thinking about fall fashions. I know I've said it before, but I love fall fashion. I love the colors - rich plums, cranberry, caramel, chocolate and heather grey; I love the textures - tweeds and knits; I love the feel- the anticipation of cooler weather to come, representing frosty windows, steamy stews and soups, and crisp, bright air. I have to admit, I've a few fall and winter clothes for my little girl doggie, Ruby. And they really do provide a functional purpose for her. For example, she has a cozy, padded, deep grey vest that she wears camping. Whenever we take the dogs out camping, the boys are always fine but she's always shivering at night. With her vest, she's clearly much warmer. And she clearly loves it, too. But most of all I like her hoodie. It's a bright turquoise blue with hot pink and white stripes down the sleeves. It fits her perfectly, and looks fantastic against her red coat. When she wears it, she seems like an athlete/fashionista and I guess, truly that's what she is. She loves this thing, and hops around with excitement when she seems me getting it out for her. She usually wears it when we go out in the early morning during the winter, or for chilly nights. I'm looking forward to getting more stuff for her this fall, and also maybe for my little niece, Rozsi. She's a growing puppy living in Washington state. I'm sure she could use a little fashion and warmth this winter, too.
