New Addition to Family

We went to PetsMart yesterday to buy some dog food for Bailey. Whenever we go to PetsMart we always look at the available dogs but all the kennels were empty. We found this to be a bit strange and upsetting. We walked around to the dog food section and what did we hear? A bunch of dogs in a row of kennels up for adoption from the Valley of the Sun Dog Rescue. We looked at another Lab at first and then we walked down a couple more kennels and saw one that had two puppies. One was an unknown mix that had at least a little Collie in him but still had shorter hair but a very soft coat. The other was a Boxer/Mastif mix with a Brindle coat. We both took to the Boxer right away. They told us that he came from an unexpected litter. They are unsure of what kind of Mastif his father was but his mother was a medium sized Boxer. We played with him for at least 30 minutes in a cart and made up our minds with ease. He has already had all of his vaccinations except his final Rabies. He is being neutered on the 4th of August as well as receiving the final Rabies shot. On that day we will be able to bring him home to meet his new family. We have decided on naming him Apollo. The name Apollo comes from the Greek God of light and the sun; truth and prophecy; archery; medicine and healing; music, poetry, and the arts. We are both very excited about the newest addition to our family.
