Guilty Pet Parent

Last weekend I boarded the dogs for the first time, hello separation anxiety (for me, not them).

 I took them to the closest PetsHotel to my house, and had them put together in an atrium room. I have to say that even though I knew they'd be just fine, and would probably enjoy being at "camp," I felt terribly guilty as if I'd abandoned them.

I picked them up this Monday after four nights and they seemed overjoyed to see me. I can't say I'd react the same way if my parents had just left me in a strange place with no explanation while they took a vacation. This is why I love dogs. Unconditional love.

Yet another reminder that I'm not ready for (real) children.
