Do Dogs Pee for Attention?

September 23, 2009 -
We've been dealing with Bruno's broken leg for a few weeks now, and he continues to require a lot of our time. In addition, the dogs have been kept separate most of the time since he has to be in a crate and taken outside alone (no rough housing).
I think we've inadvertently been ignoring Molly in the process. She's been as sweet as ever, but after months of being perfectly house trained, she's begun to urinate on the floor. Repeatedly. This is not ok.
I'm wondering if she's acting out from being slightly ignored, or if the change in routine has stressed her out? She seems in perfect health and is a year old.
HELP! I appreciate anyone's advice or experiences.

I think they will do that - attention of any kind is preferred over none. My Rosso did that when my daughter was born. He started peeing on stuff around the house (incidentally, all my belongings). Go back to good old fashioned potty training like she's a new pup and she'll get back on track. She's looking for attention, and that will give it to her but flip-flop it back to getting attention for desired behavior.
Good luck!
