What Kind of Dog is She?
November 12, 2009 -
I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful summer. Anna and Precious did their best to stay cool and only ventured out into the heat when they had to (these Arizona summers are bad!) We’re all glad fall has come and graced us with cool days and perfect evening walks. The dog park is busy again and the girls are making new friends everywhere we go.
I recently attended a Halloween party for dogs and got so many questions about Anna’s breed. My favorite answer to the timeless question, “What is she?” is simply to say with a smile, “A pound dog.”
In my eyes, that’s the best kind, and my favorite part of being a pet parent and giving Anna and Precious a healthy, happy home. It brings me great joy to know that no matter where they came from, or whatever happened to them in their previous lives, that today they’re happy, healthy girls and nothing bad will ever happen to them again.
Some of the greatest things to see with the girls are their changes to becoming the best dogs they can be. Every day I see skittish tendencies fade and see a more and more confident dog every time we play, go for walks, etc.
If you rescued your pet, what’s a tell-tale sign they’re growing into their healthiness and happiness?
