Mogwai, the Drama Queen

Drama Queen

99.9% of the time my diva dog, Mogwai, is silent. He doesn’t bark or whine under any circumstance. When a visitor comes to the door he let’s Loki do all the guard dog work. Which is why I was so startled the very first time I heard him scream. Yes, scream. It’s more than just a yelp; he literally screams bloody murder. It’s the sound you would expect to hear if someone stepped on his tail.
He does this when I’m about to do something he doesn’t like. Bath time rolls around—scream! I take out the nail clippers or PediPaws—scream! I discipline him after he has an accident inside—scream! He always lets out a wail at the perfect moment, which distracts me for long enough to prevent or postpone the unpleasant event that is ultimately about to occur.
I must say, our vet was quite alarmed on our last visit when he got his booster shot. I held him on the table while she prepared his vaccination. He must have eyes behind his head because as soon as she was about to poke him he let out the most shrilling, blood curdling, wild scream I have ever heard! She jumped back and shot me a look of astonishment, “Oh my! I didn’t even touch him!” she said.
“Don’t worry. He’s just a drama queen.” I said.
Does your dog ever do this or is Mogwai just overly dramatic?
