Chins are like chips - you can't have just one!
June 30, 2009 -
I adopted Loki, my 1-year old black and white Japanese Chin, when he was just eight weeks old. He's my little prince and expects to be treated as such. He's small and quick on his feet and very smart at learning tricks. Needless to say, he excelled in his PetSmart Puppy Education class! As a puppy, he was the light of my life, and I just fell head over heels in love with the Japanese Chin breed as I watched him grow up.
I rescued Moogie, my 1-year old red-and-white Chin, when he was 10 months old as a victim of Hurricane Ike. He's very sweet and loves to be petted and cuddled. He's fairly new to our family, but acts like Loki's long lost brother. They are the best of friends and learn so much from each other every day. Loki now shows more courage than before, and Moogie is learning what it's like to be someone's cherished pet.
Despite being the same breed, Loki and Moogie are as different as night and day! What Loki lacks in size, Moogie more than makes up for in brawn. Moogie isn't the brightest crayon in the box, but Loki revels at the chance to show off his skills - be it in agility or during treat time! It's so fascinating to watch them grow and learn from each other.
Now, I find myself dreaming of adding more Chins to our pack. Maybe a girl or another rescue pup in need of his forever home.

It's so nice to hear from a fellow Chin lover! They are such a special breed. Have you noticed how Chin just adore the company of other Chin? While mine enjoy the company of all dogs in general, they really seem to be attracted to their own kind!

Oh wow, this is awesome! I have two Japanese Chins also and I rarely see or hear about the breed. I have two black and white Chin's (Mu-Shu and Bonsai) they are my babies. I too find myself wanting more Chin's, I thought your title was hilarious. Can't wait to hear more about Loki and Moogie!
